So, I’ve been away! Finals and the holidays kept me so occupied that it was all I could do to wake up, stumble through my day at a barely functional capacity, and maybe speak short sentences. The rest of my time was about sleeping.
But I was struck by inspiration as soon as I laid eyes on this thrifted jumpsuit. It just screamed happiness and optimism! All the things I needed during this busy and stressful time.
It was perfectly loose in all the places that made it more forgiving to the less aesthetic curves: anyone that knows me knows I can usually be found in a comfy, slouchy silhouette that hides just enough of how much I love junk food.
The print was what I loved the most! It’s the kind of ankara print that I’ve been wanting to wear more and more but never knew where to begin! This is my start!
Can you tell how much I enjoy wearing it? And just look at the back!
I paired with an old canvas BCBG graphic clutch for that effortless, not trying too hard look. Which probably didn’t work because this jumpsuit definitely says, “Notice Me!” as opposed to, “This Old Thing?” And I love it. I finished with chunky platforms.

The first time I saw this sweater, I experienced a deep bittersweet feeling. I thought it was such a rich, pretty color, but the weight made it too heavy: it would never be that cold here.
Cut to what might be the coldest El Niño since 1997, and it made sense to own the crop medium-weight pullover.
I dressed it up with some sensible, yet stylish, tailored trousers. Personally, I am a big fan of dressing ankle length trousers with sleek pumps. That’s what’s so great about ankle length: they show off whichever cute shoes you choose.

The temperatures are dropping. The wind is colder, less of a kiss, and more of a smack, on your cheeks. I’m almost going through my lip balm by the bucket load.
If I sound dramatic, it’s because I am: in L.A., where we’re used to year-round sunshine, cold weather brings out the worst in us. So, I fight it, by wearing a bright and breezy sun-dress.
We’ve already discussed the color choice
Willfully ignoring the cold wind, instead choosing to delight in how it plays with the light fabric of the dress.
The print and color reminds me of a honeycomb.
Stay warm folks,

As the days get shorter and the temperatures drop, I’m challenging myself to hold on to Summer as much as possible. It’s probably because I’m used to very late Falls and shorter Winters: in L.A., we have heat waves well into October.
A playful lace dress (a trusty staple that I’ve worn a hundred times) and a medium-weight knit + oxfords is my compromise.
I’m meeting in the middle, my shiny, eggnog colored oxfords planted firmly on the ground.

This season, I’ve had a love affair with the color mustard. It’s just one of those colors that every time I see it, my eyes are drawn to it. I cannot look away. And I don’t want to, honestly. It’s so rich and vibrant, full of vitality, and just speaks to me.
These tailored wool shorts from Old Navy were exactly the type of mustard-marigold color that I was feeling. And, as is my custom, to balance the vibrant, playful color, I paired it with something in an earth-tone, understated. This cream peasant blouse, also Old Navy, does the trick.
